Cocoon

Nothing gets in. That is the problem.

New York, 2031. A device promises every person an inviolable room of their own: the Cocoon, an invisible membrane no stranger’s hand, no shove, no attacker can cross. Half the city buys one.

Then a retired locksmith is sealed inside his own protection on a crowded platform, in full view of everyone – and a midwife, a detective, and a guilt-ridden founder begin to ask what the best lock ever built is actually locking in.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Daniel Rose

Hey there, I am Daniel, a nerd and gamer with heart, a family man and an ideas smith. My friends often call me Schnipser. I see myself as an average guy with a slight tendency towards altruism.

Since my passions are books, gaming and dreaming up ideas, I eventually landed on the biggest idea of all: just write a book. Between ideas, novels and gaming, I set myself a different goal every year: a fishing licence, skipper certificate, climbing certificate, golf certificate, master's degree. 2026 was the year a book got finished.

Why, though? Because it actually started with short stories as a child. Back then, common sense won. Vocational training, a first degree, a second degree, they all came first. Some things just take a little longer.

As an avid train commuter, I do most of my reading on a Kindle I have had since 2012, the second one now. Novels, crime fiction and above all fantasy.

I look forward to your comments, I read every single one.

Daniel

2060 klingt weit weg, aber beim Lesen dachte ich ständig: Warum eigentlich nicht schon morgen?

Anna Zaugg ist die erste Romanfigur, der ich sofort mein Kind, meinen Kalender und mein Land anvertrauen würde.
